Try using version 1.5 of the software, available under the
Legacy Releases page.
This sounds like the
same problem I was having.
By the way, if you're using a M1 Max, you probably don't need a DisplayLink dock - just use a regular Thunderbolt 4 dock should work (and likely work better)
