I am realizing this is a bit older of a monitor. Ideally I would still be able to use the camera / mic in the monitor itself, but if this is not supported with the doc, would the solution be to purchase an additional webcam and connect that to the dock? |
Your monitor is unique in that it has a permanently attached cable that has three connectors on the end. One mini-DisplayPort, one MagSafe, and one USB 2.0.
The mini-DisplayPort connector will only carry the video signal (I presume you are using a female mini-DP to male DP adapter to connect the cable to the dock).
In order for the monitor's built-in camera and microphone to work, you also have to connect the USB 2.0 connector from the monitor cable to one of the USB ports within the dock.
