If you have not done so already, I would suggest performing a 'clean' install of the latest version of DisplayLink Manager, version 14.2 Note, in 14.2 the 'Login screen extension' is installed automatically by default. It no longer needs to be manually installed as was necessary in earlier versions of the application.
First, run the DisplayLink End User Cleaner utility for macOS -->
https://support.displaylink.com/know...tool-for-macos which will completely remove the DisplayLink Manager Application.
Second, download and install the latest DisplayLink Manager Application 14.2 -->

If that process does not resolve the issue and the original manufacturer (Targus) of your docking station is unable to assist you, then I would suggest reporting the issue to DisplayLink directly by following the process outlined here -->
