Hi all, here to rain on the parade.
Been using Displaylink hardware (in this case, the Plugable 3.0 docking station) since 10.10. Lived through the 10.11 dev beta with all that trouble, and 10.12 comes with a new host of issues that I didn't see in previous betas or here on this thread. This is a fresh install of Sierra off a USB boot drive running the 2.6 Beta 1.
Stuff I've seen that you have too:
- Mouse lag/general sluggishness/low FPS
What is new:
- Locking up on boot (unplugging USB fixes this problem; could be related to an external, bootable USB device connected through the dock that never fully registers)
- USB HID (keyboard/mouse) no longer register (have to use USB ports on the mac instead)
- Delayed startup of USB monitor from sleep
Thankfully the ethernet works just fine as its one of my primary use cases for the station, but no USB HIDs makes life difficult.
