Default Extremely high CPU usage of DisplayLink Manager

Hi there,

I read on multiple occurences that DisplayLink Manager was hogging CPU ressources for some reason, and has been, for many years, as reported on this forum. Sadly, the issue is still unsolved. DisplayLinkManager currently hovers around 110% CPU, with the fan at maximum speed.

My configuration, with anything display-related:

MBP mid-2012
Mac OS X 10.11.6 (There's no Nightshift mode on this Mac OS version)
DisplayLink driver version 4.3.1
Acer monitor 1440x900 (far from a high-resolution monitor)
f.lux 40.1
SwitchResX 4.10.1 to manage the Acer's less common resolution

Now, I noticed that DisplayLinkManager tends to increase its CPU resource usage when displaying anything animated such as Zoom, but I mostly use the external monitor to display text.

Is there any hope that DL team will finally solve this apparently very common, major issue? Is this issue inherent to the technology itself? After all, USB was never meant to carry video signals. Or will I need to resell my DL adapter to someone with less exacting needs?
