Thanks for the hint. Seems like that VirtualBox currently doesn't provide any WDDM 1.1 drivers for Windows 7 guests that would also allow you to use Aero, etc. Those drivers are currently under development.
Are there any ways around this issue in the "DisplayLink-World" if there's no WDDM driver available?
