I have a 4K monitor and also had the issue that 2560x1440 (or in my case since I'm using portrait mode, 1440x2560) was not available up to the 5.2 of the DisplayLink driver. The highest option was 1080x2048 with that version.

However, the 5.2.1 Beta 3 driver available for download now makes 1440x2560 available for me, so I'm a (mostly) happy camper. (Mostly because CPU performance has taken a noticeable hit running the higher resolution - but knowing how DisplayLink works, I'd expect as much).

The bad news: the beta version dropped support for 1080x2048 and 1080x1920 (only "1080x1920 (interlaced)" remains). After a few days of having the super slow 1440x2560, I decided to go back to 1080x2048, but found that I needed to revert back to the 5.2 driver in order to do so.

The 5.2.1 Beta 3 still supports Mojave according to the release notes, so anyone on Mojave or later should try it out and see if they have similar success.
