Open-sourcing the DisplayLink drivers could certainly be a good idea to get more community involvement and potentially faster development of features, as you suggested. If you will check KYC status more often and make the drivers open source, developers and users could contribute to the development and maintenance of the software, potentially leading to quicker updates and more robust software.

However, there are also some potential challenges to open-sourcing DisplayLink drivers. DisplayLink may have intellectual property concerns or trade secrets that they want to protect, which could make them hesitant to open-source their drivers. Additionally, they may not have the resources to effectively manage and coordinate an open-source community, which could lead to fragmentation or confusion among developers and users.

That being said, open-sourcing the drivers could be a positive step forward, and it may be worth suggesting this idea to DisplayLink or continuing to advocate for it on the User Suggestion forums. It's possible that DisplayLink may be receptive to this idea if they see the potential benefits to their product and their customers.
