Default Similar behavior: Input lagging, but not with all applications

I can observe a similar behavior on my MacBook Pro 13 (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) running Mojave 10.14.4. I use a Dell D6000 docking station and an HP E243i screen.
Interestingly, not all applications are lagging: While Firefox and Thunderbird are almost unusable (no change with Safe Mode or anew profile), this does not apply to using for instance Safari or even Microsoft Outlook. With Firefox, text input and Scrolling is delayed by more than 2 seconds.
The problem started once I updated to 5.1.1 while it worked flawlessly for the previous version (must have been a version which was the latest available around beginning of February 2019). Version 5.1 is affected as well though. Once the drivers are uninstalled, the problem disappears.

Another issue: with the latest version, my Dell U2715H screen cannot operate at full resolution (QuadHD) any more when connected to a Dell DA200.

Minor update: I reverted back to 5.0.1 and the issue has improved massively, even though the following messages persist:
