I am connecting a MacBook Air (early 2018) to a ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C Dock. The USB-C, Ethernet, and USB-A ports are working fine, but the Display Ports and the HDMI ports do not carry any signal to the monitor.
The OS is macOS Mojave 10.14.4 I downloaded and installed DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS 5.1.1 (for Mojave 10.14) When I connect the monitor to a USB-C to VGA adapter it works fine, only the dock ports (neither the DP nor the HDMI) does not transfer the video signal to the DP/HDMI ports. Can you please advise what can be wrong? Thanks |

this issue is now resolved: I found this article:
https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004-macos-10-13-or-10-14-video-functionality-not-enab And indeed - the DisplayLink driver was disabled - although - I did not get any prompt during the installation. I removed the driver, and then the "Allow DisplayLink...." appeared in the security preferences, then I reinstalled the driver and on the next boot removed and re-inserted the DisplayPort cable, and it started working. |
