Yosemite Beta Driver GPU Crashes
Hi,
I'm getting GPU hard crashes on a 2011 MBP running Yosemite with the Display Link 2.3 Beta with one or two crashes per day / overnight. The system is stable without the display link adapter plugged in (several days without a crash before I plugged it in [I was travelling], and no crash since I unplugged it yesterday) but has crashed daily when it was plugged in. It was stable with 2.2 when I was running Mavericks on the same MBP. Console Diagnostics show the below two messages when there's a crash: com.apple.message.domain: com.apple.crashreporter.writereport.gpuRestart com.apple.message.signature: Kernel com.apple.message.signature2: UNBUNDLED ||| kernel ((null)) com.apple.message.signature3: UNKNOWN and com.apple.message.domain: com.apple.crashreporter.writereport.cpu_resource.d iag com.apple.message.signature: DisplayLinkManager com.apple.message.signature2: UNBUNDLED ||| ??? (???) ((null)) com.apple.message.signature3: cpu usage Anyone else come across this and/or have a solution? Any logs or info I can provide that will help the devs fix? Cheers, prk. |

Hi prk,
This is puzzling. And quite worrying of course. It would be great if you could help us debugging this. Can you please uninstall the DL software, repair disk permissions, install the 2.3 Beta and try to reproduce again? When it happens again, please collect the logs with our tool immediately after you have recovered from the issue. The log tool is at http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 You can attach the logs here or send them through http://www.displaylink.com/support/ask_question.php Thank you, Carlo |
