I had an M1 air and plugging in DisplayLink would always work, even if slow.
I recently upgraded to an M4 Pro and when I plug it in, it would sometimes recognize that a usbc has been plugged in, and sometimes not. So I end up each morning plugging / unplugging it 3-4 times before it can, by chance, recognize that a docking station's been plugged in. I suspect it to be a power draw issue though as the LED in the mic connected to the dock blinks sporadically when DisplayLink doesn't work (during normal operation / when DisplayLink works, the LED is just solid on). |
