Problems Uninstalling USB Display Adapter
I installed the software and pluged the unit in and it crashed the machine. It appears the drivers did not install correctly. Every time I pluged the unit in it crashed the machine. This instalation failing may have be caused by the sercurity on the machine, it is a work machine and to install software/driver the admindistrator has to enter his password which I he said he did.
We have now unistalled the software but the problem we now have is every time we restart the machine or log on the a User Account Control box comes up with the message C\Windows\system32\newdev.exe "0000001" \\.\ pipe\pnp_device_install_pipe_2. {33a83953_40e5_4045_810e_142.00 5718571f "USB\vid-040 pid-00dd This message is not exact as I could not make all the message We have downloaded the cleaner program but it did n ot clear the issue Could you please advise |

I've never seen this message before in conjunction with our software. It sounds like something is corrupted in the Windows image. Searching for newdev.exe leads to this thread which might help solve it:

I have also had luck with using USBDeview -- http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
That lets you selectively remove both present and non-present devices, very handy tool when some USB component in registry isn't behaving/not being recognized correctly. |
