Default Dual Monitors Freeze when using DisplayLink Software

Have a Dell XPS 15, connected to a Targus dock USB 3.0 powered. The images on the Monitors freeze sporadically, but the laptop continues to run fine. Unplugging the USB and replugging fixes the issue for a bit then it re-freezes.

I am using

• Nvidia driver version 306.97 (have also tried 305.93)
• USB 3.0 driver version 1.0.6.245
• Display link driver version 7.0 M2

Is there a know issue with nvidia and displaylink? How can I fix this issue?

Are you running Windows 7?

I've got the same setup with Win8 (XPS 15 + Targus 3.0) and have a constant flashing on laptop display and nothing on external monitors when I try to enable them.

I've considered downgrading to Win7 for this and other reasons but if the dock doesn't work with 7 either....

It is running Windows 7 Pro x64. The user has experienced problems since the first day. He has not had a problem with flashing. Everything works fine then all of the sudden the external monitors freeze what is currently on the screen and have to be reset.
