Manufacturing Test Mode
Hi Everyone,
Everything was working fine until I decided to install the drivers in my boot camp partition, during the install it blue-screened. After that, the adapter seems to be permanently in "Manufacturing Test Mode". This happens both in Windows and OSX. This is what's under the USB section in the system profile: Manufacturing Test Mode: Product ID: 0xc300 Vendor ID: 0x17e9 (DisplayLink (UK) Ltd.) Version: 0.01 Serial Number: 00000000-000000 Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Manufacturer: DisplayLink Location ID: 0x1d110000 / 8 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 2 Connecting it to my linux VM seemed to give a little more info, something about a firmware update interface, so I am assuming maybe the firmware was being updated when the machine bluescreened or something and now it's cranky. |

It's a Winstar WS-UG35D6 (hopefully actually a legit product).
Bought it on the 7th of Feb 2013 |

We have followed up with the manufacturer on this issue. Unfortunately there is no way this device can be recovered and will need to be returned to the manufacturer for a replacement.
