Grey Desktop Background every startup
I am on an iMac using most recent display link 1.7. On Mac OS X 10.7.2
I am having the same problem as: http://www.displaylink.org/forum/sho...ght=background Everytime I restart my computer, when I turn it on and it logs in, my display link monitor has a greyed out desktop background. I then log out and log back in and it has the proper desktop background. This is a very troubling problem. It is a bug with the software. Are there any suggestions to get past this? |

I'm not sure this is a driver issue. What happens if you switch to mirror mode and then switch back? This action should temporary fix the desktop background (the same as logout and login).
I found this discussions on the Apple forum:https://discussions.apple.com/thread...rt=45&tstart=0. It seem a Lion issue that sometimes happens with multi display setup. |

thank you for the prompt reply.
The thing is, I have had a second monitor via the Mini-DV port for over a year without this problem EVER (NOT A SINGLE TIME). A week ago I bought a Display link and installed the DL software. Then, ONLY THE DL DISPLAY (3rd monitor) turns grey upon startup. I uninstalled the software yesterday, and disconnected the DL monitor, and then reinstalled and reconnected and it seems to be working for now. If the problem continues I will let you know. I did take a diagnostic, if you want me to email it to you please let me know. |

Ok, thanks for your information. If you could post the diagnostic info, it would be much appreciated.
