Hello
I have a similar issue to Tom and am wondering the response from the member called TargusLevel3 in negreenfield's thread is relevant - hopefully my issue is somewhere in between and resolveable Laptop: Acer Aspire7750G Laptop Monitor: Samsung SyncmasterSA350 USB Hub: TargusACP51AUZ Windows 7 I turned my laptop on after it being off for about 6 hours to find my Samsung monitor had the red light on indicating power and it was on, but no display. I did notice at one stage a DisplayLink pop-up on the bottom RH side, but just closed it not realising it might be relevant as Ive never seen it before. After a bit of testing which included bypassing the USB Hub, keyboard shortcuts for monitor displays, resetting windows, going back to a restore point, trying a new cable I decided the monitor was no longer working. I ruled out the USB hub when I was directly plugging the monitor into my laptop and ruled out the cable with trying a new cable. One weird thing is that when I was trying to configure monitors and appearances in Screen Resolution it was picking up 3 monitors, one was called 1/2 and the other 3. I connected my old Lenovo monitor so I could continue working today, and then after about 6 hours of use - it suddenly went blank as well and there was the DisplayLink pop-up on the bottom RH side again. After a quick bit of research which determined it wasnt malware, I followed the installation instructions for DisplayLink and did a computer rest. Lenovo monitor now working. So, Ive suddenly thought my monitor may not actually be broken (glad I didn't hastily trash it today), but alas it is still giving me a blank screen. The menu button works, it just flashes HDMI, Analog and then goes blank. I have tried to download the latest DisplayLink software from the website, but havent proceeced as there was a pop-up for an incompatibility error leading to this webpage. In my Windows Device Manager it says that the Targus USB Video (DisplayLink Display Adapter (02AA) is up to date. My assumption with not having had a problem until today and it has been the first time I have seen the DisplayLink pop-up seems to suggest I start here. What shall I do? Hi,
Regarding the incompatibility error, have you been able to upgrade your USB 3.0 host controller driver? Can you attach the output from this tool so I can take a look? http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 Thanks, James |
