Stop DL from renaming monitors

I am using controlmymonitor.exe to switch between work and home PCs using same monitors. Issue is, Display link keeps changing my monitor strings making the shortcuts i created worthless

for instance, the CMM software detects DISPLAY 13. great, have a shortcut for display 13, next day it will be DISPLAY 14, which kills the shortcut. is there a way to command display link to STOP renaming my displays? I reached out to CMM they said its a windows thing-
