Mac keeps freezing when opening monitor or disconnecting DisplayLink.
Hi,
Is there anyone else who has experienced that your system fully freezes while connected with DisplayLink if you open your mac screen after it was closed or if you disconnect the DisplayLink cable? I'm on a 16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro model with macOS Catalin 10.15.3, the computer becomes totally unresponsive to mouse movements, the mac screen itself ends up totally black while the DisplayLink monitor screens can't be interacted with any longer either. The keyboard also becomes totally unresponsive as well as the touchbar, at which point the only way to use the computer again is to hold the power button for an extended amount of time forcing a shutdown. I managed to get rid of this behaviour by disabling Automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver System Preferences, but this is not ideal since the battery life will be dramatically reduced when I disconnect the DisplayLink. Does anyone know if this is due to a Mac problem or a DisplayLink driver problem? |
