Let me start off by saying everything was working fine in Windows 7. I upgraded to 8.1 recently and have gone back to disconnect issues. i have downloaded the latest 7.5m1 software, used the clean tool to uninstall and remove and reinstalled. Multiple times per day, teh displays, network, etc will lose connection for a few seconds. immediately it will reconnect and go back to normal, however programs will either crash or lose connection due to the disconnect. i have had to redo alot of work because something in progress was interrupted.
i have also tried setting my power options to full power vs balanced as i have read somewhere online. i did not notice a usb3 power option in my bios to adjust. I'm attaching the support tool log for investigation. Edit: i wanted to also ask if other people were using wireless keyboards and mice through the USB dock? again everything was working well in windows 7 but due to the disconnect issues i've had to revert to usb kb/mouse. using a Microsoft 7000 series set. Hi,
Does this happen on the other USB 3.0 port on your XPS? I ask as we seen issues with the USB 3.0 ports on the XPS. Thanks, James |

There are only 2 ports, but i have not tried the other one. But again, this port was working just fine with Windows 7, only after going to windows 8.1 did this issue start happening again.
