I have a Surface Pro running 8.1. Recently purchased a Targus 3.0 ACP70US dock.
As soon as I install DisplayLink 7.4 M2, I lose all ability to open PDF files. The METRO READER app fails with a Remote Procedure Call failure, and Adobe Reader Touch Fails with an App failed to open error. If I uninstall the DL 7.4M2, these apps both start working again. I have a clear cause and effect here. Anyone else seen this behavior or similar and know were to turn? It happens regardless of the user account in use, joined or unjoined to a domain. Scratching my head! |

I've just tried this on a Lenovo Helix and didn't find any problem. Does it only happen with certain PDFs?

The problem is not with any specific PDF, it's with the apps themselves. READER will just minimize with no "browse for a file" dialog, and Adobe Acrobat Touch just craters.
I have even taken this PC back to factory, which I am going to do again. I have to solve this as I need to move my boss from 8.0 to 8.1 and she is dependent on PDFs..... and she has identical Surface Pro Targus 3.0 dock set up. |

I had the problem with Adobe Reader Touch when I installed DisplayLink 7.4. Other Metro apps would also crash. Problem was resolved when I updated to DisplayLink 7.5.
