Hello,
From time to time (several times a day), my 2 screens are disconnected; Not visible in my mac. So black screen. I need to wait a few minutes before to reactivate them.

I have this issue on several docking.
This is a new macbook air 15 M3.

I use displaylink 1.12

Can you help me ?
Many thanks

Hi,
Can you share some information about the setups? On which docking stations and with which monitors does this problem exist?

Default My external screens intermittently go black within minutes or less

I have a similar issue. I recently purchased a DisplayLink Docking Station Dual Monitor (10-in-1, 10Gbps USB-C Hub) by SAN ZANG MASTER for my MacBook M1 running macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70).

Issue:
My external screens intermittently go black within a minute or less, even though the dock remains connected. The screens turn back on randomly or require me to unplug and reconnect the dock. The issue happens on both monitors simultaneously.

Troubleshooting Steps I've Tried:
✔ Updating DisplayLink Manager to the latest version (1.12.0, Build 33)
✔ Adjusting macOS power, sleep, and display settings
✔ Testing with different cables, ports, and refresh rates
✔ Changing the refresh rate settings (tested at 50Hz, 60Hz, 75Hz, and 100Hz)
✔ Reinstalling DisplayLink drivers
✔ Ensuring adequate power supply (100W PD connected)

Setup Details:
  • MacBook M1 with macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70)
  • DisplayLink Docking Station: SAN ZANG MASTER 10-in-1
  • Monitors Used: Sceptre New 24-inch Gaming Monitor (E248W-FW100T) – 100Hz, 1ms, DisplayPort/HDMI, FreeSync

I have also recorded a video of the issue and can provide logs if needed.

Questions:

1. Has anyone else experienced this issue with DisplayLink docks on macOS Sequoia?

2. Could this be a compatibility issue with macOS 15.3.1 and DisplayLink Manager 1.12.0?

3. Are there any additional troubleshooting steps I can try?

I appreciate any advice or insights from the DisplayLink team or other users who have faced similar issues.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi abeloua1,

Thanks for such extensive information you have shared.
In order to give you accurate information I would need to review your system logs. To send them, it is best to do so by contacting us directly. If you have a video showing the problem it would also be great if you share it with us.

However, before you do this I would suggest that you check if the problem will occur when only monitors are connected to your docking station. Perhaps the problem lies in the power supply to any additional devices that may be connected.

Thanks

Default RE: External Screens Intermittently Going Black – DisplayLink Dock Issue (MacBook M1)

Hi Dariusz,

Thanks for your prompt response. I followed your suggestion and tested the dock with only the monitors connected (without additional devices), but unfortunately, the issue persists. The screens continue to intermittently go black within less than a minute.

Additionally, my laptop crashed yesterday while attempting to get the monitors to connect. The crash report indicates that the DisplayLinkUserAgent process (from the DisplayLink Manager app) crashed due to a segmentation fault caused by faulty memory assignment.

I will proceed with gathering the system logs and reach out to support as you suggested.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should check before submitting the logs.

Thanks again for your assistance!

Default Same behavior

I've experienced the same behavior, and sometimes it freezes.
That's why I reverted to the previous version.

Hi,

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately even with 1.9, the problem persists. I uninstalled the 1.12 and installed the 1.9 and it worked for a few minutes, but then the screens started turning black and disconnecting.

I tested the docking station with a Windows laptop and it worked fine.

I sent the logs to the support email

Thanks
