I'm running a 15" MacBook Pro (mid 2014) with an Anker USB 3.0 dock, a Pluggable USB 3.0 dock, two USB monitors (AOC) 3 monitors connected via DisplayPort + HDMI and the onboard Retina display.
I can successfully run 8 monitors at any one time, but if I try enabling the 9th and 10th, Windows 8.1 disables them again. The MacBook has an nVidia GX 750m graphics chip w/ 4 GB of RAM (2GB dedicated + 2GB shared.) Also running the latest graphics driver available on nVidia's site (9.18.13.4752 released 2/5/2015), and the latest DisplayLink driver (7.7M4.) Why can't I enable more than 8 monitors? Here's my setup (there's now an extra monitor in the blank spot on the right, and this pic doesn't include the retina display.)
