Problem Install Displaylink Software on Win 7

Hi,
I have installed versions 5 and 6 on two pc computers with no problem. I've recently purchased an Acer E350 with AMD 6130 graphics chip. When I install the Displaylink software, it fails to ask for a password and fails to show an icon in the systray. I polled the knowledge base and tried to launch the icon using command prompt controls, but with no success. The Displaylink software does a wonderful job of giving me access via my Ipad and really want to see if I can make this work.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
