Any comment on when portable USB 3.0 monitors will appear?

No, that'd be worse!

I'm not a fan of the AOC USB-display products right now -- that 16" 1366x768 monstrosity has pixels so big, you can see them from across the room

I was hoping for portable solutions with excellent pixel density.

i.e. between 14-17 inches -- so that the dimensions would roughly line up against a laptop screen of similar resolution and similar pixel density.
