iPhoto issue - enlarging images

Hello, I am having an issue with enlarging images in iPhoto. On my DisplayLink monitor, when I double click on an image to enlarge it, the image briefly appears in large size before going black. However, when I move iPhoto onto my non-DisplayLink monitor, this issue does not occur.

I am running a 17" MBP, Late 2011 running OS X 10.8.2. I have a USB Plugable UGA-2K-A powering a and Version 1.8 of the DL installed.

Is anyone else having this issue?
