Displaylink on Vizio Displays invalid format

Have tried many times installing and un-installing software with no success.
Tried version 1.5, 1.7 and even 1.8. Repaired Disk permission.. etc. Read everything posted except to manually place files. Have also tried this on a Toshiba laptop.. P755-5180 in which it would not even link. But this post is concerning Mac snow leopard. Got the displaylink information program and ran it I hope someone can give insight on what is going on...
