USB 3.0 to 4K HDMI Adapter on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS in a HP Laptop

Hi all,

I bought a USB 3.0 to 4K HDMI Adapter on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS (brand I think is irrelevant info) which comes with a DisplayLink chip.
I followed all the steps on the "How to install DisplayLink on Ubuntu" website (http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...ware-on-ubuntu).
Then I connected the USB and nothing happened.
I performed the steps on the "How can I report Ubuntu issues to DisplayLink" website (http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...to-displaylink) --> See attached zipped file after running the DLSupportTool run ( hp-ubuntu_2017-12-15T16:19:54.296483.zip (57.3 KB) )

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
