We are using the Diamond Wireless WPCTVPRO and even though this product is no longer in production; it has been working quite well until the Windows 10 1709 roll out. To get around the issues of 1709 we have downloaded the latest official release of the DisplayLink software (currently 8.4 M2) and then enable Windows 7 Compatibility Mode on the .exe before installing. Our Network Technician figured out this method. This has worked wonderfully well on all of our problem laptops except for the model listed above. Problem:
Troubleshooting: Using the different Windows Compatibility Modes (Windows 7 and Windows 8) on both 8.4 M2 and 8.5 BETA with restarts in between each test; the problem still exists. This is the only model laptop we have had difficulty with. Thoughts / Opinion: I can't prove it but my gut is telling me that because HP doesn't have any Windows 7 or 8(8.1) drivers for this model laptop; compatibility modes will not work with the software. Thank you for your time, experience, and patience, Thomas Last edited by thomas.bennett; 03-29-2018 at 08:07 PM. Reason: Grammar and punctuation corrections. |
