Severe Issues with Dell D6000 Dock + DisplayLink on MacBook Air M2 – Constant Failure

Hello,

I’m reaching out here out of sheer frustration with DisplayLink technology and the Dell D6000 docking station. I genuinely didn’t expect it to be so difficult to connect two simple Full HD monitors and a wired mouse to a modern MacBook Air M2 – but here we are.

Here’s my setup:

Docking station: Dell D6000
DisplayLink version: 1.12.4 (clean install, tested also with earlier versions)
Firmware: latest available, updated via Windows
Laptop: MacBook Air M2 (2022)
macOS: Sequoia 15
External displays: Two Full HD monitors @ 75Hz
Mouse: Wired
Keyboard: Bluetooth and wired (both tested)

Daily problems I encounter:

I have to reconnect the dock at least five times every day to get a "fully working" setup.
Sometimes only one monitor is detected.
Sometimes no monitor is detected.
Sometimes only the mouse works, but no display.
Sometimes nothing works at all.
Rarely (maybe 1 in 10 attempts), everything works as expected.

Additional technical problems:
Versions above 1.10.3 of DisplayLink cause visual artifacts on my displays. Certain parts of the screen look like they're in 360p resolution or display corrupted content, while others are normal. This makes it virtually unusable.

I’ve tested multiple Dell D6000 units in our office, and the issues are identical across all of them – so I highly doubt this is just a faulty dock.

At times, there's severe keyboard input lag (especially in the terminal). For example, I press the key “c” – nothing happens. Only when I press another key like “d”, it shows the entire string “cd” at once.

My questions to the community:

Is anyone else experiencing the same level of instability and frustration?
Is this a DisplayLink software problem, or are Dell D6000 docks simply not compatible with modern macOS versions anymore?
Is there a known working version of DisplayLink that is stable and doesn’t introduce visual corruption?

At this point, I’m honestly losing patience with this technology. Connecting two monitors and a mouse shouldn't require space-grade engineering in 2025. I just want this to work reliably – even 80% of the time would be a win at this point.
