Default Powerpoint 2010 second screen flashing and mouse stuck

I am having the same sort of issue with the display link usb adapter. I have loaded all the windows updates and the latest 5.6 display link driver. Is there any way to solve this.

Regards

Hi mark8385,

The PowerPoint issue has been fixed and should not occur with 5.6 driver. Please download the Windows DisplayLink debug tool from this website, then gather the system information and upload the zip file to this thread. (delete memory.dmp file if the zip file is too large to upload). This would give us more information as to what might be wrong.

Thanks

Please try using Windows aero mode, rather than basic graphics mode. This should solve the issue.

Thanks

Thumbs down

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing this same problem along with some Silverlight websites.

The hardware I'm running is.

HP ProBook 4525s, Win 7 PRO 32bit, ATI 4200 series latest drivers 8.850.0.0

HP USB Docking Station (HSTNN-S02X) Latest driver from the Display Link site and the Beta driver.

PowerPoint 2010 either goes to a black screen then crashes or freezes and as you move the mouse paints square blocks over the screen.

Tested aero on off, older ATI drivers, Totally fresh install of Windows 7 and Given it the finger!

We have bought about 10 of these for our office. WE NEED A FIX PLEASE!!

Hi

From the log files, you are running Windows Basic graphics mode, which is why you are seeing the problem. The fix at the moment is to switch to Aero mode, which will avoid the problem.

Wim
Thank you very much!!!

I could have sworn I switched to aero during my testing as it was mentioned earlier in the thread!

Thank you again and sorry for the rant!
