NO MONITOR? LED Light not on

probably doesnt apply to you - if I have another cable (vga, hdmi, etc) cable plugged into my monitor (even if the other end is not connected to ANYTHING else, or grounded -- ie, sitting on rubber pad), the monitor wont 'see' the adapter, but my computer will. Again, ymmv. The monitor is a Dell 24 inch (I'm not in front of it right now; I'll check if I can remember in a few days)
