Are you sure you are running Windows 98? I think we stopped testing that a while ago. I'm sorry that you are having problems, but Microsoft has fixed quite a number of issues with the USB stack since then. It could be that your USB hardware has unfortunately developed a fault, can you indicate what model it is?
