Default Display not recognised, Windows 7, Wavlink USB 3.0 HDMI adapter

I've just bought the Wavlink USB 3.0 HDMI adapter, and am trying to attach a monitor to my DELL laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. The laptop already has a Matrox DualHead2GO installed. Could that be the problem?
(I've tested the adapter and it does work on my Vista Laptop.)
I don't even get a Display Link icon, should I expect that? I have installed the Display Link s/w and it appears OK in Programs, and USB devices.

I don't believe Matrox supply WDDM graphics drivers for their graphics cards, which are required by the DisplayLink software to correctly operate. I think this will be the reason that the adapter is not working on this laptop.

I downloaded and re-installed the DisplayLink install. This appeared to download when I first connected my adaptor. However the re-install has fixed things up, and now I have my third external monitor. Excellent!
