Steam crashes when DisplayLink driver is installed

When the DisplayLink drivers are installed (regardless of whether or not the computer is plugged into the docking station), Steam games (specifically Napoleon Total War and Dawn of War II) do not run, in fact they do not even reach the splash screen, but instead crash. When I scrubbed the system of all DisplayLink drivers, both games worked fine.

Please can you help? I really want to be able to use the Dock as I spent a lot on it!
