Updated Display link software to the recommend version.
Still no go. I unplugged the all peripherals attached to the docking station, i.e. USB mouse Keyboard, monitors. Left the docking station power plugged into laptop and installed the DisplayLink 6.3 M1 software. Shutdown, plugged back in the monitors and ensured the docking station was plugged into the USB 3.0 port. Started up laptop, and it recognized and installed drivers for USB, could tell from the notification in Windows 7 that pops up. Still no icon for display link or recognizing monitors. unplugged from 3.0 port and put on USB 2.0 port. Recognizes and installs drivers but still no display link icon or ability to use dual monitors or even one. It allows me to use mouse and keyboard but video is no go for dual monitors. Here is screenshots of display version installed, the USB driver install and debug files again. Thougths??? This is crazy.. The laptop is brandnew, less than two weeks old. |

Hi
Thanks for the logs. Looking the System Details.txt, it shows that a DisplayLink device has never been detected on the USB bus, so there is nothing for our software to talk to. However the USB hubs in the dock are working, which is why your keyboard and mouse are working. This looks like a hardware problem. We have an article on this here: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=323 But I think you have probably tried most of the suggestions in here. I think it would be best to contact Targus for a replacement dock if this continues. Wim |

Thanks for reply and I should of posted the other day.
Still can't say its 100% fixed but I was combing threads here and saw a post about power cycling the Targus docking station. i.e pulling power from it and plugging power back to it. So from the post above, I was sitting there, nothing working. Reached back on the docking station and pulled the power and plugged back in.. guess what, it fires off and starts installing Targus 3.0 drivers etc.. then everything works.. Later on the laptop went into sleep mode and another power cycle brought it back to life again. Since then no issue.. odd to say the least. |
