Default Support data

James

There is an attachment on my first post. Anyway I have rerun the software so please find attached the support file requested., and the one from my first post.

The software says that the adaptor is not plugged in and if a unplug the laptop clicks and when I reconnect the USB lead the error message 'USB device not recognised'.

I hope that you can help.

Richard

Am I doing something wrong in this forum as responses seem not to be happening?

I am wondering if the internal power supply could have failed in the adaptor and that is why the device is not being recognised. I can measure voltage going in but surprisingly there is no LED on the adaptor to indicate power on.

Begining to think I will return the whole thing as a waste of money.

Hi,

Can you update your Intel USB 3.0 host controller driver to this one?

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,
James

Default Update

James

Many thanks for coming back to me. I have made that upgrade and at least I don't get the USB device not recognised.

However although the displaylink software shows in the control panel, it is not showing in the notification area. If I plug in an ethernet cable no lights are showing and the second monitor via the DVI outlet does not show.

I have re-run your diagnotic software: system compatibility check says the device is not attached. Support information file is attached.

Hi,

Can you upgrade to the latest DisplayLink software (v7.7 M0)?

You can locate it here:

Thanks,
James

I am afraid that it is still not working: adapter is not recognised and the software upgrade didn't help. Latest support information file attached

This is so fustrating!
