The kernel version is 3.19.0-47-generic, with Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. That seemed to be the more stable of the combinations. I did try the next kernel version 3.19.0-49-generic but there were all sorts of issues there, so I had to roll it back. And when I initially installed Ubuntu, I tried 15.10, but it seemed pretty buggy in general (issues with the SSD and some other weird things going on) so I ended up going with 14.04.3 LTS. So as of now for me, Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS + the 3.19.0-47-generic kernel seems the most stable with the Dell XPS 15" and the DisplayLink.
