I had a similar problem when the 'Anniversary windows 10' was installed, and my LAN connection went away. I went through the same steps that Alban recommended (Except my Anti Virus is Windows Defender). My LAN connection came back but my Ethernet driver still shows 'DisplayLink Network Adapter NCM'.
Thanks Alban Last edited by papacraig; 09-24-2016 at 12:38 AM. Reason: Gave credit to the wrong person |

Hey PapaCraig,
Would you have the log files, please? Only employees can download the zip files posted here. I would like to see if there is an error with the device. Kind regards, Alban

I had the same problem when the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update was installed. My HP USB Giga Ethernet was replace by the DisplayLink Network Adapter NCM driver which failed with a code 39 error. So I disabled real-time protection, which disabled Windows Defender, uninstalled the DisplayLink Graphics Driver software and the failing DisplayLink Network Adapter NCM device from Device Manager, then reinstalled the DisplayLink Graphics Driver software. At which point the HP USB Giga Ethernet device reappeared. Thanks Alban for a successful fix.
