Hello,
I wouldn't be able to explain exactly what happened in your case. Most likely the monitor will stop talking to the computer at the reboot. The product wasn't conceived to work on Windows XP. Asustek or DisplayLink would have never tried it on Windows XP as it is excluded from its specifications. Now the OS has been obsolete for years, there is no hardware available anymore here. That version of the driver was also abandonned as XP graphics subsystem is different than following OSes. This means the code is not maintained anymore as it was developped on previous version of development tools also made obsolete by their writers. You may be able to restore the computer to the previous stage. However, we will not be able to guarantee that this device will ever work properly on that machine. I don't see how this can be progressed unless you are looking at your own machine. Kind regards, Alban
