Hello Joe,
There is no specific reason I can see here. Working on first plug is part of the suit of tests. We would need data to analyse. Please use the last link in my forum signature to get the customer support tool. Gather logs just after doing an unsuccessful and successful USB connection. I should be able to see the last events and the reason why the first one didn't work. The tool will create a ZIP file you can upload here with your reply.
