I've created bug report, but I'm afraid it looks like your docking station has issues on the USB hub if the adapter works properly when connected directly to the laptop. Can you confirm what model it is? Is it Alternate Mode or Thunderbolt dock? If you don't know, you can give me a web link and I will recognise it.
