Firmware Updates

Hello,

DisplayLink/Synaptics does not provide a standalone firmware flasher because the DisplayLink component in the docking station is updated within seconds automatically at connection by the driver. You would not see it happening.

However, we understand the DisplayLink chip is not the only chip in the box. We are currently working with the manufacturers to deliver a solution which is as transparent for the other chips as it is for DisplayLink's.
Because it requires collaboration between multiple chip vendors with each their own process, this is not an easy case to solve, but this is definitely a priority.
What would help is if you could contact your dock manufacturer/brand and state you want transparent firmware update for the full dock, not just the DisplayLink chip(s).
