MacBook sleeps after closing lid in Big Sur

You'd have thought that with Big Sur, this annoying problem would disappear. Why is it so hard to fix the clamshell mode issue? Could you elaborate on that?

I'm thinking about switching the product because of this problem. The clamshell issue keeps coming back every time I update the machine and I have to install/uninstall drivers every time until it works stable again.

Thank you very much for a fix in the near future.

Having the same issue on Catalina 10.15.3 in clamshell mode, every 60 seconds it goes back to a lock screen, +1 on having this work ASAP. My MBP gets closed up when docked, don't need or want the built in display.

I have a docking station to let the lid closed - but this is not working

You don't need to install any app. Just check in Settings -> Battery -> Power Adapter ->*"Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off".

Then you can close the Lid and it works ok (at least for me - MacBook Pro M1, macOS 11.1, DisplayLink 1.2.

No, even if I set this my Macbook Pro 2018 is going into sleep mode immediately.
I have a second docking which works fine .. but as soon as I plug the display to the Displaylink the Macbook is going to sleep.

I've just bought a Dell D3100 dock with Display Link, and I'm experiencing this same issue.

I've got a Macbook Pro & XPS 13 for work, and need to easily switch between the two.

Everytime I close the lid on the Macbook, half a minute or so later the screen resets and I'm shown the login screen again. Really annoying.

I've tried the power settings, and nothing seems to work.

Everything works perfectly on my XPS 13.

Really need a fix for this, pleeeeaaase!
