How many external displays are you trying to run, do you want them all portrait? ** I love my M1 Air. ** I have two 32 inch displays and actually thought I wanted them portrait. I tested this with my work Mac a 2017 15 inch Pro and decided it was too damn tall with 32s and went back to landscape.
That said with any displaylink chipset based hub like a Targus 180US you will have power, usb ports, ethernet, etc. all coming through 1 connection to your M1, leaving you with a free port that can natively handle 1 external display that will be able to be run in portrait mode. |

For your info, release 1.6 seems to have fixed my problem
i've installed the new release on dec 22 and i haven't had the problems mentioned above in the past two weeks. |
