Would rather have the solution from Displaylink as its their issue, which they said they are working on from my correspondence with them.

I totally agree, these days there are few more HDPI resolutions in between and there is a big quality picture jump in between 2K & 4K

My LG 4K Monitor supports 5 scaling resolutions on USB-C

https://ibb.co/2Zm0Lg6 3008x1692
https://ibb.co/4JqhBFq 3360x1890

but once I connect to Targus DOCK190AUZ on my Mac

https://ibb.co/6ZMKrhD I get only 2K & then 4K, 3008x1692 is probably the best working resolution for 4K monitors which are now standard for many designers.

It would help loads as at the moment the only solution might be SwitchResX https://www.madrau.com/

Thanks

Same thing here with Dell P2715Q connected to Macbook (Intel and M1) with Lenovo 40AF USB-C Hybrid dock and DisplayLink v1.3 (Build 56.111).

Display works great, but lacks scaling options that it has when connected directly.

In case of Intel-based Macbook Pro it has full 3840x2160 (UI way too small), 'looks like 2560x1440' (slightly big and the quality here is bad compared to the same setting run direcly) and 1920x1080 which looks good but is just huge.

In case of M1 Macbook Air it has full 3840x2160 and the next one is 1920x1080 + a lot of even lower-resolution options.

Using the option+click trick I get more resolutions to pick from but never the perfect 3008x1692.

I really hope this gets resolved, otherwise I just got another 'almost perfect' dock :-/

Is there a solution to this?

Mac OSX Big Sur. Connecting Lg 32un880 4k monitors via displayport/display link and 3360x1890 resolution missing.
resolution is available via HDMI and USBc just not via displaylink!!
Have to do better than that Displaylink. Latest drivers do nothing to resolve the issue

Long time between responses from Displaylink. 7 months ago it was some thing may be coming and now nothing. Every M1 MAC irrespective of the type of monitor has this problem with Displaylink its nothing to do with just your monitor.

Default Still an issue

Just updated to DisplayLink 1.5 and still unable to use any resolutions apart from 1920x1080 or 3840x2160.

Last update from DisplayLink in this thread was Jan 2020 Is there any further update?
