Default Working but Heavily Lagged on One Monitor - Continued

While waiting for USB 2.0 to USB-C dongles to arrive for testing the mouse bypassing the docking station I decided to go ahead and go through the following troubleshooting guide to see if there's anything else I can try while waiting: https://support.displaylink.com/know...ces-powered-by

A new step I hadn't tried was turning off Wi-Fi. That's not really a long term solution for obvious reasons but might give insight. Turning off Wi-Fi did not make any differences. Mouse cursor movement is still lagged on the one monitor and DisplayLinkUserAgent's CPU usage shoots up from 30-40% usage to over 100%.

I've ordered some 8k (4k/144Hz) DP cables to test with as none of the manufacturer provided cables that came with my monitors provide any improvement in the problem with that monitor.

Any tips on plugging a DP and HDMI only monitor into a MacBook Pro? All I'm finding on it are USB 3.1 ports and what looks like an analog audio port.

Did I mention already that I hooked the docking station up to a windows computer and checked the firmware on it? It's up to date.
*** Also, the same monitor has no problems on the Windows box. None of the other monitors are giving me trouble on that box as well. No other changes besides hooking the docking station to a Dell Laptop with Windows 10 instead.***

Default Working but Heavily Lagged on One Monitor - Continued

Interesting Detail Noticed

I ran a color profile fix (Settings > Display > Color > Open Profile > [ColorSync Utility {Menu Bar}] > File > New Window) that found some bad color profiles under the [Profile First Aid] tab. From there I opened a terminal command prompt and did the following for all the bad profiles:
sudo rm -f /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/<bad_profile_name>.icc
In addition I ran fresh Color Profile Calibrations for each monitor.

I also powered off my docking station with everything connected. I let the docking station stay power off for a long count of 10 seconds and turned it back on. The goal was to give any driver loading problems a chance to sort themselves.

Now I am noticing something I didn't notice before though I'm not sure if the correlation is causation from above.
DisplayLinkUserAgent is no longer running around 30%-40% normally. It's fairly idled down around 7.7% and sometimes goes up to 18% with a few shoot ups to 30% - 40% CPU usage range. If I move my mouse over to the one monitor that's giving me issues and quickly circle my cursor around in a tight < 1" circle the CPU usage does not increase as much and there is no noticed strobing though the cursor will occasionally get very big per the setting I have with the system to help me find my cursor on the three large monitors. HOWEVER - The greater I increase the radius of the circle the greater the CPU usage acceleration becomes by the DisplayLinkUserAgent process and strobing eventually becomes pronounced and increases to a greater degree in correlation with the radius increase. IN ADDITION - Around 2" - 4" in radius of motion a rectangle of screen darkening appears around the cursor that appears to be composited of 1" squares that incorporate the movement path of the mouse cursor over an interval of fractions of a second.

Unhappy Same here

No longer working. Error "Your device does not support DP Alt Mode, please install the latest driver and try again."
I've tried
  • reinstalling the latest driver/displaylink manager
  • disabling and enabling the screen recording permissions
  • USB-C display port cable
  • USB-A cable
Nothing works.
Only thing that changed is BigSur updating from 11.0 to 11.1.

The version on the Asus support site is 1.1.0.
That's an older version.

The current driver from displaylink is 1.2.0
https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos

I have installed the latest driver (allowed all permissions), but have a problem where the display works intermittently. I have to restart, and sometimes it works.

All you can do now is send log files report to the developers and hope they can gets resolved in the next update.
