Same here. If there is some activity on DisplayLink Monitor, WindowServer >50%, DLM 40%. Crazy! Admins, please provide some guidance or justification!

I will hope for the next update or just send it back. Luckily I ordered via amazon. Its absolutely unusable now. Its version 1.3.0 on Catalina 10.15.7. Even in HD mode, it slows down my mac massively. I just have to wiggle around with a finder window and cpu goes up. The more is moving on the external screen, the more power it eats up.

Very upsetting that DisplayLink doesn't comment on this in any way...
I suspect you are experiencing the same issue I have been experiencing ever since migrating to BigSur / new driver. https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...3613#post93613 |

how is the situation with m1 macbook pro. from the 3 thunderbolt ports, if i connect each monitor to one usb port, directly or using an usb hub, i wouldn't have to use direct link at all, correct? and hence no such drastic performance decrease, correct?
