Banner notifications and slack sound stopped working after updatin MacOs Monetrrey

same, super frustrating.

spent 2+ hour with apple support .... ended up having to uninstall/reinstall (which took another 3 hours) only to realize the issue is the connectivity to display link.

emailed about this, and was told it was an apple issue... which it is not.

now i have to decide btwn having bigger screens, or missing notifications.
