The StarTech adapter you are using is a Thunderbolt 3 device. It does not have DisplayLink Technology inside of it. As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to help.

Further to this, the DisplayPort to HDMI video cables you mention using can only work in one 'direction', from a DisplayPort video output to a HDMI video input. They will not work in the opposite direction as you are attempting.

In addition, the StarTech adapter you are using relies on the internal display capabilities of the host Mac in order to work. A Mac with an M1 processor can support only one external display via a Thunderbolt 3 device.

As a result, even if the adapter were working while using standard HDMI to HDMI video cables (cables with a HDMI connector on both ends) only one display would work when connected to an M1 Mac.

You must use a product that has DisplayLink technology within it in order to use two external displays with an M1 Mac. DisplayLink has a guide to locating products based on their technology here --> https://www.synaptics.com/products/d...ylink-products
